Ten months in, the city is paying to search for somewhere else to go. The public has never been shown what leaving costs, what the land is worth, or why any of it is necessary. There is still time to stop it.
Before the vote
The list of candidate relocation sites was due back to the council the week of August 25. Three weeks on, it has not appeared on any council agenda, and no vote on a move is scheduled. Meanwhile the city is being sued over the building’s upkeep: on August 12 the Save Dallas City Hall Coalition asked a court to order repairs. Agendas post about a week ahead, so the sites could surface with that much notice. Now, tell your council member: don't approve a move. Slow down, put every option and every cost in public — staying, leaving, demolishing, selling — and let Dallas judge the deal before it's done.
